I've recently begun attempting to download FreeBSD via my ISP and a ppp connection. I've a Complete PC 14.4 TurboModem mounted internally on COM2 - it obviously works under DOS/Windows or I wouldn't be posting here. Problem is that no matter what I attempt in the installation term window I'm unable to either talk to the modem or to convince dial to do anything more than die. When I do a "show modem" the outq value shows "ioctl probe failed" on /dev/cuaa1, which leads me to think that the modem isn't being detected during kernel configuration. Given the above, does anybody have any words of wisdom (apart from 'Get a life!') they might care to share with me? adv{THANKS}ance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bob Melson The right to be heard does not rmelson@primenet.com include the right to be taken Rio Grande MicroSolutions seriously.
