I like FreeBSD, and have a lot of respect for it's macho robust stability. But Linux has greater momentum, greater commercial interest and more energy. FreeBSD is great in the server room, but so is Linux. Linux is great on the desktop, but FreeBSD? Based on the way folks have voting with their wallets and vendors have been weighing in with ports, FreeBSD is unlikely to catch up. jjs
