If you do "get a life", please post it. We'd all be interrested ;-)
You should see the serial device "probed" at boot time. As soon as
you get your first installation menu, press PAUSE and use the arrows
to scroll back and have a look at the probe. If your serial port
isn't being probed properly, snoop around for documentation on
the magic flags you can pass to the sio driver (I'm assuming you
havn't just got the IRQ wrong or something).
