I'm having great difficulty convincing clio.kram.org that she should
answer the phone and accept calls 8N1. No matter what I do she seems
to insist on 7E1.

The modem is definitely letting through 8 bits. I tried all the
combinations of op, ap etc. in /etc/gettytab but no joy. If I log in
from afar using 7E1 she's happy.

After poring over the FAQ and BUGlist from Berkeley I finally came
here in desperation. Any pointers gratefully received.

Regards,

Mark.
