Ive been reading the manual page, the Handbook and trying lots and lots of
different things to get
user mode PPP working to my ISP - With only little success.

It works for a while if I have do it manually - no ppp.conf section
specified - after I manually use the
hayes atdt... cmd in term mode, it will connect, I enter the username and
password and it will end up
in PPP in 30-45 seconds. I can then access the internet for 2-3 minutes,
before I lose connectivity (
I presume the routing expires ).

It does not work this well if I attempt to use the ppp.conf to do the work.

In particular, my ISP assigns a new unique IP address for each session,
does NOT use PAP or CHAP,
requires me to enter my username and password at the appropriate prompts.
After that point, IPCP seems to
startup - to get IP addresses negotiated and so on. Im not using the
ppp.secret file at this time, and I have a section
in the ppp.linkup file that reads [ delete all and add 0 0 HISADDR ]

Does someone know of real definitive examples in the documentation
somewhere ?
Would someone please send me an example that works ?

Thanks, Dave
