I am having a little trouble adding new disks to my FreeBSD 2.2.2
machine.

Every time I try to newfs a disk after a few seconds The whole machine
justs dies. The only thing I can do is press reset.

I and running 2.2.2-RELEASE Diskcontroller a Adaptec 2940UW and the new
disks are old sun scsi II disks 411MB. I had NT on them before striped
with no trouble except that NT suxs..

I have tried to newfs them indivually and also made then to a ccd device
and tryed to newfs them. Both times with the same result. If I boot from
a 2.1.5 boot disk I can newfs then.

I have a custom kernel that is basically a generic kernel minus some
network cards and minus ide controllers plus ccd and snd devices.
