I just tried to attach an Archive Viper QIC tape drive to my A3000 running NetBSD. Alas, on 'mt status' it says 'no ready' without a tape (maybe the right answer!?), with a tape it says 'illegal request cannot set selected mode unknown tape drive type (7)' Trying to read or write also elects an 'illegal request'. Someone knows what's going on here? Oh, ah: NetBSD 1.0 Help appreciated.
