I've got external units from Media Integration based on the 1533 and 1599 drives with little cables from the SCSI ID pins to an external ID selector. Since we run mostly Intel-based UNIX (Novell/SCO UnixWare, AT&T/NCR Unix, soon Solaris) the default switches are fine, but a small "window" to those switches could be easily engineered. Power supplies belong internally, not in sloppy bricks cluttering up desks and floors. Hey, if you guys can engineer a Mopier that can "mow the lawn"...
