Turns out that I should have been wearing my dunce's hat when I posted - my modem wasn't having problems, =I= was having problems and once I woke up and did things correctly I was able to make the connection to my ISP and do the download. That's a different story. Anyway thanks to you and Joerg and (??) Chet for at least bothering to read and reply.
