Absolutely.  We're running it with 512MB of RAM in ftp.cdrom.com, in
fact.

You sure you had it quoted correctly?  Here's the line we're using
(pasted directly from ftp.cdrom.com's kernel config file):

options         "MAXMEM=524288"
