The switches we were discussing are a 8 way dip switch on the underneath
of
every drive "brick", not the SCSI ID switches. The PSU would need a
major
re-design to allow these switches to be accessible. I take your point on
external "fat snake" PSU's... I missed the Mopier statement, maybe
that's 
US only advert!
