Ah, here you delve into religious issues!  OS wars, just like language
wars are wars without winners, and this is sure to be one.

What's good about *BSD is largely a matter of opinion and experience -
I've worked on BSD systems through 4.3 and wanted to see if the small
system version was like big brother.  Frankly, I'm impressed.  There are
holes and shortcomings, but on the whole it "comfortable".

What's good about LINUX - I'll have to let a LINUX afficionado tell
about that; I gather it's very System V-ish but don't know from my own
experience.
