Put your printer in polling mode. Doing so will free up IRQ 7 for the sound card. Simply put device lpt0 at isa? port? tty in your kernel config file and build a new kernel. Be sure to also disable printer interrupts in your BIOS setup. (My BIOS allows me to move the printer address and enable/disable printer interrupts -- hopefully yours does, too!) Voila! Your printer _and_ soundcard now work, and you didn't have to hack the kernel! -- Rich ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Richard Neswold, Accelerator Div./Controls Dept | neswold@fnal.gov Fermilab, PO Box 500, MS 347, Batavia, IL 60510 | voice (630) 840-3454 'finger neswold@aduxb.fnal.gov' for PGP key | fax (630) 840-3093
