I am trying to migrate from FreeBSD 2.2.ALPHA to current.
At present I only seem to have cc compiler which is also
the same size as gcc. It seems like I do not have
the correct cc compiler. Can someone please help
with the following questions:
(1) is the correct compiler cc or gcc ?
(2) indicate where I can get the correct cc (gcc ??) compiler
(and its correct version)
(3) Should I build the compiler or simply download its binary
version ?
(4) Any other tips on ensuring the usage of the correct compiler.
Here is the output of various commands:
> which cc
/usr/bin/cc
> which gcc
/usr/bin/gcc
> ls -l /usr/local/bin/*cc
