Annoying ... yes maybe, and I can fully appreciate your security concerns, but there's not much choice since it needs to write directly to video memory. Do you actually know that what you're trying to achieve is possible? I was quite surprised when I read your post that someone would even contemplate running a complex Linux ELF binary on a FreeBSD system, but then I know absolutely nothing about FreeBSD, so that's kind of irrelevant.
