Why do you say this?  Conventional wisdom has it that the SMC
cards are superior to the otherwise similar NE2000 cards
because they can be memory mapped and ISA memory cycles are
fundamentally quicker than ISA I/O cycles.

Is the EtherEZ different from the other SMC 80xx family cards,
or is there some other reason you recommend I/O mapped mode?
