It is a very nice plotting package that runs on dos or unix, and, in my opinion, a little better than grap or gnuplot for some things. Unfortunately, I get compile errors on the latest gcc and FreeBSD (did not on earlier gcc -- dunno why yet). It complains about a parsing error in one of the header files that I don't exactly understand why (late model GCC bug?????). Earlier gcc did not do this. AIX cc does not do this. Could it be a memory problem (I only have a pair of 8 meg boxes in the office)? The source is on ftp://wuarchive.wustl.edu/graphics/graphics/packages/gle, if anyone is interested. A slightly later version may be available on the net, from New Zealand. It really ought to be added to the FreeBSD collection of ports, for anyone interested in doing any sort of scientific graphics plotting. I would be happy to assist any ports-person do this, IFF I could get past that silly compiler error. Maybe someone has already ported it, but it is not added to the ports collection? Any pointers appreciated. Thanks Bob Keys rdkeys@seedlab3.cropsci.ncsu.edu
