At this stage of the game I don't care. As it's setup in my bedroom
with no modem and me using either a PC or my Psion to access the FBSD
box, any login would be appreciated ;)

I figured out getting a login by using

	stty -f /dev/ttyd0 clocal

at the prompt and then managed to get a login: prompt. Then the
device seems to reset clocal !? I did 'stty' again and got to be able
to login. On logging out I now can't get back in, unless I play the
'stty' game again.

- - How do I make the clocal permanent?

I've edited rc.serial and in the terminal() section added 'clocal' to
the stty lines in there. Also added a line to call terminal (where
the comments directed)

	terminal d a 0 1

to run stty for COM1 & 2 (ttyd0,d1,cuaa0,a1).

If I look at /dev/ttyid0 the 'clocal' setting appears okay. But
doesn't carry over to ttyd0.

Thank you for your patience.
