just a comment on the performance, or lack thereof on the 3com501
card, i am running mach + bsdss4/UX39 on my pc, and i see
about 150-200 kiloBYTES per second through the ethernet.
that is pretty damn good...especially considering its an 8 bit card,
and that they are a dime a dozen these days.
