I am currently running FreeBSD 2.2. The problem is that I can't get xauth to work The first problem is that I cannot get xhost to disable all hosts. <xhost -localhost> does nothing. Doing an xhost again show that localhost is still on the access list. The second problem is that I can't get startx to generate a correct .Xauthority file. I have tried %xhost xhost> add curie.cs.ucdavis.edu:0.0 . 12345678901234567890123456789012 xhost> add landau.ucdavis.edu:0.0 . 12345678901234567890123456789012 xhost> exit % Then I ftp the file over the the remote machine. I made sure that I used binary mode and change the file access mode correctly. But I cannot open anything from the remote host. Has anyone encounter this problem before and came up with a solution for this. Thank, Hung -- chauhu@cs.ucdavis.edu: /noun/ Hung Chau (2239 EUII Network Lab, UC Davis) http://curie.cs.ucdavis.edu/
