The thing is, how can I launch a program and keep it in background on booting the machine? I can launch the program and put it in background (mycat &) by hand but if I do this on rc.local it just doesn't start (or maybe it just dies??)... So, any sugestions? Is rc.local the right place to do it? If it is at all relevant, the box is running FreeBSD release 2.2.1. HELP! :-)) By the way, I'd appreciate if you could reply by email to the address below. Thaks a lot! Cheers, ---- Nuno Nunes nfmn@comnet.pt Transferencia Internacional de Dados, SA Voice: +351 1 343 0501 Lisboa, Portugal Fax: +351 1 343 0511
