Hello all,

Well, I'm sure this must be pretty basic to most of you, but I don't know
how to do it.

The thing is, how can I launch a program and keep it in background on
booting the machine?

I can launch the program and put it in background (mycat &) by hand but if
I do this on rc.local it just doesn't start (or maybe it just dies??)...

So, any sugestions? Is rc.local the right place to do it? If it is at all
relevant, the box is running FreeBSD release 2.2.1.

HELP! :-))

By the way, I'd appreciate if you could reply by email to the address below.

Thaks a lot!

Cheers,

----
