I'm doing a DOS-partition install and I've downloaded tons of stuff to help make the install a success (the way I want it to be). My main prob I guess is installing X-Windows. I've got everything from the XFree86 directory on the distribution site, but when I try to configure the settings on the post-install, it tells me it isn't even installed! And I'm more than sure that I've selected XFree86 to be installed along with all the other stuff....oh well....anyone know of anyways to fix this? Also, when installing, what does it mean to set up your machine as an NFS client or server? I always selected "no" on this option. I should read the handbook on this one I guess.... Sooner or later I'll be up and running with FreeBSD I hope...any suggestions what other things I should download? I want to connect to the internet (via calling up an independent ISP and being assigned a dynamic IP address), but I'm sure I probably have to download something for that, correct? What would it be? I'm a newbie, but I want to learn...and after 4 installs in the past week and reading as much of the handbook as I could (and am still doing)...I'm not giving up :) I hope the installation is the most difficult thing there is about FreeBSD.
